The Schmitt Presser house is one of the oldest examples of half-timbered architecture and is one of the only ones in Rio Grande do Sul that still retains all of its original features. Upon entering the house we can see historical and cultural elements of the city.

One of the most famous museums in Novo Hamburgo, founded in 1978, the site has a neoclassical style and is located in the Historic Center, in Hamburgo Velho. The building, which was renovated by the City Hall, has already served as housing, a hospital, a commercial house and a place for cultural events. It now houses the Scheffel Foundation, one of the largest art galleries in the world made up of works by the same artist.
