Cradle of Italian colonization

Cradle of Italian colonization, Caxias do Sul preserves the tradition of immigrants who arrived there at the end of the 19th century from Lombardy, Veneto and Tyrol; who brought with them the wine culture that today makes the city and the region recognized and with internationally awarded brands.

Wine tourism in this part of Serra Gaúcha in no way conflicts with the dynamic metal-mechanical hub, giving the city its contours of the typical welcome of Italian culture and the entrepreneurial vocation of its people.

There are several tours that combine gastronomy, winemaking, folklore and architecture. At times it's like a time warp, as some nearby neighborhoods and villages maintain traditions that, even in Italy, are rare.
